Resilience That Redefines Perspective
Sean Hakes is no stranger to fighting for his life — literally. In 2006, while camping in scenic Poudre Canyon, a friend accidentally discharged a shotgun at close range. Sean was struck in the back of the head. With no cell service and fading fast, he was lucky to be airlifted to Poudre Valley Hospital. Emergency decompression surgery saved his life, though he was left partially blind for nearly a year.
But that wasn’t the last time he’d face impossible odds. In 2024, Sean was misdiagnosed with cancer — only to learn days later that he was dying from a severe bacterial infection. After spiking a 107° fever, he was rushed to the hospital where doctors discovered three liver abscesses and a massive internal infection. He went septic. Then into septic shock. He credits his survival to the incredible doctors at Parker Adventist Hospital — and most of all, to his wife and mother who refused to give up on him.
These experiences changed how Sean approaches everything — life, business, and the people he serves. There’s no room for ego. Just impact. He believes in showing up, building things that matter, and helping others win — even when the odds are stacked.
Built From Rock Bottom
Sean’s first few businesses in the early 2000s? Complete failures. He went broke — not the kind of broke you bounce back from easily, either. He was so broke, he couldn’t even afford to file for bankruptcy. Eating was a struggle. He drove a $500 truck where your feet could literally punch through the floorboard — and when it snowed, snow would swirl inside the cab.
He lost his first home to foreclosure. Had cars repossessed. Owed the IRS thousands because he didn’t know how to plan for taxes. It wasn’t just humbling — it was the kind of education you can’t buy. Every painful lesson became a building block for how he helps businesses today.
Sean understands what it’s like to start something from nothing. To bet everything on a dream. To feel like you’re one bill away from losing it all. That’s why he doesn’t sell hype — he delivers real solutions for real business owners who need traction, not fluff.
Strategy Meets Psychology
Sean doesn’t just build websites or launch brands — he studies the psychology behind why people buy, click, and trust. That obsession with human behavior fuels everything from copywriting and design to advertising strategy and conversion optimization.
